Chairperson: Trudy Dent - I am married to Gary and have three adult children. I have worked in a variety of roles in mental health for many years and appreciate the opportunity through my involvement with the Board to support the Chatbus Counselling Service. I firmly believe in supporting children and young people to access assistance early and learn important skills that will enable them to successfully negotiate potential difficulties.
Secretary: Carolyn Sims - I have been with Chatbus since the vision was first cast and it has been a very exciting journey, from getting the first bus to seeing this service grow. I think we at Chatbus have something wonderful here, something unique and something that meets the needs of today’s children. I have a teaching background and currently work fulltime as a Community Worker.
Treasurer: Jo Scott - I have a background in hairdressing and through owing my own business have skills in “keeping the books” which I am very happy to put to use with such a great service as Chatbus. I have 2 children in school and appreciate that there is a free counseling service available to children in schools. I also appreciate being part of a team of trustees all with different skills that govern the Chatbus service.
Board Members: Linda Brown - I enjoy working in the Education sector, worked as a teacher aide, home tutor and have held positions with Primary School Board of Trustees and Committees. Currently work as Administrator in Department of Languages and Cultures at University of Otago. Have Coaching qualifications with ‘Results’ and work with staff and students in the University of Otago as Ethical Behaviour contact.
